VSF Omega AT Master Co-Axial A8900 - Extreme Macro Watchporn

Dear fellow rep lovers,

as mentioned in the Omega AT thread, I received my VSF A8900 w/ blue dial this week from JTime. As the weather was crap today, I had some time to take shots of some details like hands, dial print, markers and the movement. All in all, I have to say that I'm pretty excited what level of detail and workmanship I'm looking at here. Apart from some bigger differences like the bracelet (only if you take it in your hand) or the movement (serial number not engraved, balance wheel w/o screws for adjustment), I'd easily accept this as gen if seen on somebody's arm only. Of course, once you unscrew the crown and manipulate the date/time or feel the bracelet, you'll notice right away that something's wrong. All the rest can only be spotted with a 5x (or higher) loupe. If anyone hesitated to get this thing - it's brilliant and I highly recommend it. Without more words, I'll let the imeages speak for themselves. First, a lot f macros of the VSF rep, then some more images of my Omega AT w/ 8500 movement for reference. All images are scaled to 1500px width if you follow the link.

Whenever I posted a watch on IG one of the tags I always used was #watchporn And then one day I went to actually view and look at that hashtag and it was all about people watching porn.

Needless to say I no longer use the hashtag “watchporn”.

The Safe bet is #wristporn

Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm f2.8 Macro on Panasonic GX9 + solid tripod. As images were resized, I didn't bother processing RAWs. Only simple editing in IrfanView.

Beautiful comparison photos. When you have the opportunity to make other mails as well. Anyway the "defects" of the "dirty" hands or other details are seen only for the huge enlargement of the photos. I don't think you can distinguish a gen on anyone's wrist and not even take it in hand (what do you say?) Unless you have a gen right next to it. The bracelet weighs a little less but how much quality is much lower? When you say that if you adjust the time you understand that something is wrong what do you mean?

In my opinion, there's no absolutely chance to recognize this model as a rep if you can't take it in your hand. Once you do though, you'll feel that the middle links of the bracelet are sharper on the edges and not as refined as a gen bracelet (oil bath is mandatory anyway). Unscrewing the crown feels the same as gen, but the crown pops out farther then it should. You'll also feel that the stem has a lot more wiggle room than the real thing. That said, you'd still have to know the gen to notice this.

It's a free sprung balance wheel regulated by adjusting the weights (see picture). Similar to the Microstella balance wheel of R Factory.

Correct. This is the part to look out for if one is intending to get a genuine so you won't get conned for a replica. The plus side of having a clear caseback.

They even created a custom incabloc spring with the extra tabs/wings over the cap jewel. Love the photos.

I was always hesitant to purchase one of these because I wasn't convinced the dark blue dial would be close to genuine. Have to say these photos have changed my mind. Looks amazing

Do you know hot reliable are those movements or how easy is to repair them? I’m close to buy one but I can’t pull the trigger if the watch will be reliable for a very short period.
