Let's not forget, that the 8500 was quite a game changer for Omega, as it was their first "in-house" movement - a decade before the 8800 was released. It is also the base for the majority of movements that Omega has used over the past almost 20 years, up to the recent 8912. And it has the nice jumping hour setting.

The jump hour is quite contentious amongst collectors, some love it for travel, some hate the lack of quick set date 😂

Yeah, I'm wearing my PO today for the first time since early May, so it took some time to get the date to the 28th 😂
On the other hand it's much quicker to adjust to the am/pm because you can quickly adjust the hour hand and don't have to do a full run just to figure out in which half of the day the watch stopped running.

say please now 8800 clone with Co-Axial. or its better decore?
Some minor stuff no more fake deco / rotor / plate and gear, structure more similar to 8800 but not coaxial, power reserve better, etc, but still 4hz, overall, minor improvement but many still prefer old 2824 variant

in my small way, and breaking the photos well, i saw that some finishes (satin) of the case, seem even better in the REP.
I don't know if it's a question of photos, or the fact that the GEN in the photo is a used watch.
But maybe it's just my eye :)

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. I saw the press from Puretime on their Telegram posts about the GEN4 VSF. Feels like this addresses the concern of loose decorations. I feel the need to get a VSF SM300. I'll need to find out if the blue dial and rubber straps are available with the SS bracelet. If anyone has already pulled the trigger let me know how it goes.

It's good that they didn't repeat the coaxial. For me, this is a minus: capricious in maintenance, complication for the sake of complication, problem of finding spare parts (for Russia). There is really no benefit from it.
