Probably the last of my clear out. I’d intended this to be my first attempt at a Franken but just never got to it.
The watch is great, maybe some light desk diver marks on the bracelet and clasp but nothing serious after maybe half a dozen wears.
The first step was a service of the movement by @ado213 . I was never quite happy with the power reserve and winding, it turned out one of the pallet fork impulse jewels was set low and was not correctly striking the escape wheel. Ado corrected this by resetting the jewel and it’s run like a charm ever since. Smooth winding and power reserve/timekeeping as they should be. I didn’t bother with waterproofing as I just don’t bother with reps.
Price breakdown:
Watch from Sead/Supermirrors was $479 dollars but included shipping so $450 feels right. That is £343 at today’s rate.
Extra movement work meant the service work was £150.
Total : £493
My price is £400 which is a fair hit for me on a serviced, great watch. When a mod gets to the thread I will provide proof of the work and service done. So please respect the rules and wait for a green.
