I'm considering a replacement VS3235 for the one in my VSF 126610 with the busted balance - instead of replacing it with a VR3235 and modifying the crown-stem.

Hoping someone can confirm if this is the actual VS3235, and whether it would typically be clean or recommended for service on arrival? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100....store_pc_groupList.8148356.31.6b741ce8KFEuvD

I believe this seller (Ouliguan) is generally considered to be reputable, and there's buyer protection in case the movement is DOA or develops problems early on.

It’s VR. The VR has the adjustable studs on the top of the balance. The VSF has them on the bottom.

Thank you mclarendude and oascom :thanks:

Kind of embarrassed that I didn't pick that up straight away.

Looks like I'll either have to order the VR and have the crown-stem modification done, or pay $295 USD for a new VS3235. Or wait a while for parts to become available, or the movement price to drop...

What stem modification do you need to do? Just swap the stem from new movement. Might need to cut it and file down the end but it's plug and play with the crown.

Thanks - I thought it was more fiddly to attach the VR stem to the VSF crown.

oascom - stupid question, but I do just use the stem that comes with the new movement and attach it to the VSF crown, right? I.e., no need to order a separate stem?

Yes, as the VR stem is different.

Yes, just need to cut it for proper length as it will be longer from factory
