Hi guys, bought one of these (https://trustytime.shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=228&products_id=17095) from Trusty not so long ago and have replaced the crystal but would like to replace the (way too tall) crown. Can anyone offer some advise on who supplies a direct replacement crown/tube or (even better) just the crown if its possible to just swap out the crown without worrying about the changing the tube as well..?

Thanks in advance

Neil

I think you want a 702 crown. In terms of aftermarket 702 crowns, I have heard that Athaya's is the best: http://parts.athayavintage.com/product/aftermarket-702-crown-and-tube/

I do not know if the Athaya 702 crown can be swapped onto the stock tube of your watch or if you will have to change the tube. I also don't know if your case is tapped with the same thread pitch as the Athaya tube, so if you end up having to swap the tube you may have to re-drill and tap the case with the correct thread pitch (M3x0.35) to match the Athaya tube.

Hope that helps.

I've used Athaya's 702 crown and tube on a couple of 1680 builds and a lot of people on here (who are much more advanced than myself) continue to order them. Just a heads up that if you do order from them be sure to upgrade to DHL. I have a few parts from Athaya that have been held up since 4/3.

Yeap, Athaya is the way to go. Original case threads should be ok once the original tube is removed. You can clean them up by re-tapping if required. You’ll probably need to countersink the case to accommodate the Athaya tube.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but that is a very nice piece.

i would take this topic to pop another vintage Tudor sub question:

i bought this watch: https://www.intime05.co/tudor/2960-v...ner-a2836.html

and broke the dome. i need to replace it because it was a heavy fall and a heavy break.
now i need some help and guidance to make it. first, the size to look for. then, where to buy it?

thanks, in advance, mates.

with all these raids, the vintage replicas just disappeared from the dealers sites, don't they?
