Vintage sub case: sillix vs. trusty

Hello,

I am looking to build an homage with a tiger dial, so I am looking for a 38mm case and I'd like to have your advice about these 2 options:

Trusty (US$238)

I wand to build an homage with a 2836. Should I go with trusty or sillix for the case?

Sillix is way cheaper but Are these 2 cases the same?

Silix: Probably just as old, I've never seen any of those pics get updated

i am almost positive that i've seen folks state that both silix and cartel cases are too big and not actually 38mm.

A number of the Silix no crown guard models - including the one you have IDd - have slightly odd bezels ie that are NOT coin edge bezels as the 6536/6538/5508/5510 gens had. For the model you have picked they do not have many pics, but if you look at a similar model on the Silix site like ROL186 you can see from the side shot that it is not even close to the right bezel.

My entry into rep Subs was with a Silix - something like the ROL234 - the case is indeed c 38mm, however unfortunately the bezel is not, it’s a little bigger (something like 39.5mm) so there’s a bit of an overhang.

I haven’t seen the Trusty examples so can’t compare but have wondered if they are all basically from the same factories, just different shots.

Be careful with the last batch of big crown sub from silix, I ordered 3 case set from this ref and the lug holes are to close of the edge of you want to mod it (redrill the lug hole to the gen size and add bevel to the edges) the previous batch were far better on this points.

But you can get a nice mod

Is it a good idea to build this watch with a seiko nh35 instead of a2836.

Has anyone tried that?
