Hmmm I'm unsure about this movt but it sure is a beauty. Would that fit into a panerai case?

I have tried this already and there are two problems. The movement is slightly (<1mm)) too big. Can be fixed with a little work on the case. The bigger problem is the second hand spacing. It is slightly off and requires a custom dial. I bought both a 917 & 921 too try. They are incredibly beautiful movements. Far nicer than all of the unitas movements. If you try it, spend the extra $100 for the 921... It is worth it.

Regards.

@ addingwatch....yes, i am aware of the problems...my solution: use it for a 47mm BASE Panerai version.

the 921 would be my choice.....looking around already !

thanks for the info...lets see !

keeping you guys posted!

I would LOVE to see that in an unbranded Cali dial "vintage" with a display back. It's a beautiful movement!

h_u, have you seen the LE Steinhart pilot watch with the modified 6497 with center seconds? Talk about a drop-dead gorgeous movement! Hacking center seconds to boot!

One of these was/is on sale at WatchUSeek.com. Pricey at ~$1800, but you could pay that much or more for a decorated 6497 powered watch from other marques, easy. Limited to only 55 pieces, too!

I have the Steinhart Nav.B-Uhr pilot watch, 333 pieces. I can't say enough about the quality for anyone thinking about a Steinhart.

sure they are high quality...but a non recognized brand...like the extremly high end TIMEX watches...who wants to buy TIMEX when spending 10 grand.

moreover, Steinhart is known in the industry just to copy existing watches....buying a swiss name...they cant even speak...and acting like they have been making watches for 300 years.
INVICTA also makes a few very nice watches...will i ever...ever...buy and wear an INVICTA ? i dont think so.

i am sourcing parts and info...sigh...that will not be easy. VD Broucke is experienced and has amazing watches....that i can not afford.
the RWG watch with a Hamilton mvmnt costs 4500 $.....what a joke.
so, this project might take some time and money....lets see.

I see some applied "Rolex" pieces on those bridges, River. What's the movement underneath, Cotebert? I don't think the Molnijas have the double screws in the smaller gear wheel, so it's not a Molnija...

Give us the details, River!

Beautiful watch.
