I have had this one for a while now. I took my strap from my MM and distressed it and now I use it on this watch. Used a little bleach and some sand paper on the edges only.

I love this bad boy. I will tell you that 44mm seems small after you wear this for a while.

Here is the RXW strap I distressed...

CJ:

this post has prompted me to distress my gorgeous MF 1942 - if it doesn't turn out well ... then it's my fault for thinking I could make it look good!

brad you might want to 'learn' on rep straps, but the steps are pretty straightforward. BOB straps distress well too and are cheap via the 'bay

Enzo, mate, thanks. Yes, am still a novice on this.

I'm glad I went the whole hog on the Mf 1942, and am pleased with the results, viz.:

* 8 mins in bleach
* sandpaper applied where I desired the effect

I'll post when I get back.

Cheers, Brad

Hate the role of wet blanket, but... are you sure that hands should look that way?
Here is a gen:

Did I say that it was a gen? Did I say it was a perfect rep? Nope, don't think I did..... Rep is just a rep....

As I said, I hate the role I got here. Actually I was just interested in verifying whether that rep copied a gen with notched hands... I was unaware of it, and I always am willing to learn something new.

Pls also consider that davidsenjpn offers golden, non-notched hands, and he claims to be able and willing to make custom hands too. Even if he provided hands for 6497 only so far. I myself just asked him about a set of hands for a 104 (but I had to tell him the hole sizes I needed).
With golden non-notched hands that watch would make for a real beauty, don't you think so? :D

enzo, agree with all you said. Often I am just obliged to stay on the essentials because of my poor English. And I learnt something new here, which is always a good thing.
I had an encouraging reply from davidsen about customized hands, so I thought I could share it. Still to be verified in facts, though.

If davidsen comes up with Molinja hands, please share with us, I think there is a fair group of Vintage owners would benefit from such a source, cheers.
Davidsen claims to be willing to make custom hands. We can suppose that if a fair group is interested he will be even more willing.
All you need is one of the group willing to open his watch and take measurements of pinions' diameter (or hands hole sizes) and hands length.
My best wishes.

An update. I seem have been a little too optimistic about davidsen. His final reply:

I have just checked with my current stock from spec.
Sorry that i do not have the sizes of holes as per your request.
