Well, this wasn't suppose to be a light Vintage mod. I decided at the start that I wanted this watch to look like it had been thru 4 Tours of Duty, every weather element known to man and then buried with the soldier.

Picked up the watch with a cracked crystal from a member on one of the boards. The crack was somewhat superficial in that it didn't actually reach the surface of the outside or inside crystal. I decided to keep it as it went with the whole look.

Enjoy.

Damn brother. That looks amazing! And the strap is killer! Whats powering that thing? 6497 or did you do the vintage mvt as well?

Amazing vintage work. I would have spared the crystal, but one of the best vintagizing works I have seen.
I would love a walkthrough of all the process.

Yep, that's been through the wars--and lost! Beautifully done.

Ta Hell and back! very creative patina on the watch, looks like dried blood on the case. Nicely done.

Looks like a basic 6497 with sterile plates, but it definitely seems to have a worn out look to it as well.

Blueradish...
I don't usually get this excited about the retro aged look, but this certainly has given me food for thought?

I think a step by step walk through is in order.... till then wear it well :)

You certainly achieved your goal!
It looks as if it has had at least 2 prevous owners, as the first would have surely lost his arm in the process of getting his watch this badly beat up.
Nice work!

that was impressive... how did you do it??

I've had a lot of requests for a step by step. It will take a while as I didn't document it as I was doing it. Stay tuned, hopefully I'll get it up soon.
