I wanted to take much better pics, but I don't have a light box set up yet and I couldn't wait. Here are some quick and dirty pics of my pride and joy. Specifics include: Angus sourced Fiddy case, Madasboot top/bottom custom plexi crystals which are 3mm thick. No worries about cracking, vintageized (lightly) hands and dial, lug modifications and springbar mod, PERFECT running Cortebert 616 with custom movement spacer, fully custom engraved case and CG, and vintage Italian leather strap custom made and stitched to the original specs. This leather strap is almost 6mm thick is one of the nicest straps I own. Germano vintage style buckle which is awesome!! And vintage 150/90 length with plenty of tail. Now I understand all the hype with longer straps. Gotta have tail and lots of it.

Credit for this beauty ALL goes to my friend Madasboot (Marco) who built this for me. I can't thank you enough!!!!! You da MAN!!

Future enhancements will include a sunburst ratchet wheel, engraved center bridge and a thicker Fiddy crown. But that's it. I'm happy with this watch the way it is now.

This watch is so comfortable on the wrist. The bottom plexi crystal is gently curved, so this watch is as comfortable as my 44mm PAMs. The beating sound of the Cortebert 616 is really incredible. It's like you can hear every little gear moving and the balance wheel spinning. No lie.......this watch is alive!! The top plexi is really gorgeous and is what sets this watch apart from most of the other Fiddy/6152 watches I've seen. The fit is perfect and the optics are gorgeous. Marco even took the time to carefully vintageize my case and crystal. Nothing extreme, just a carefully "worn" look. We've all seen plenty of vintage effect dials and hands, but to my eyes, the treatment on this watch is perfect and not overdone. This thin lettered MM dial from Davidsen (thanks DSN for all of these obscure and wonderful parts) is currently the most accurate vintage dial to be found.

Basically this watch involved attention to even the smallest details and the fit/finish really show off the hard work. No flaws here at all!!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Marco!!!!!

In parting, I would like to thank my dear wife for not killing me for all the time I spend on this board, my dear son who never puts down the controller for his Wii, etc, etc, etc

On to my crappy pics:

Wear it well my dear friend!

and the pics are great.

I cannot wait to have the other parts ready for you!

Hope Vacuum (Sherwin told me wonders about you and your work!) can replace the crown it has for the one I will send wich will require some "metal work" on the CG.

BTW maybe he can also polish over the engravings on the case (borders look a bit barbed because of the drill).

Now I will go for a humanitarian mission (you know what I mean...).

While I put on my blue helmet wish me some luck!

Kisses for everyone and again THANK you for everything and a wonderful time spent together.

your friend,
Marco

The perfect watch. I love it. One of my all-time favorites. I personally wouldn't touch the crown. It looks correct the way it is.

Well.....that's what I thought, but Marco, my personal vintage Panerai expert says I must change the crown for a thicker one. Some of his personal vintage pieces can be found:

I don't even know which one is my favorite??
