To me victorinox has always been associated to Swiss army knives and I never fancied to find it on a watch.

When I saw it, I absolutely fell in love with it. Despite its Rolexy look I am sure it will look good on any wrist. Gonna have one unless they are not

Hmm, I don't know about this one. Reminds me a lot of the Rolex Day Date II. I mean sure, I see the difference, but I get the same vibe from it.

For $700 why not? Though I'd suggest a Rep Rolex Day-Date [or DD II] with a clone ETA movement for $300 or less.

I agree re Rolex rep. However Gen is a Gen.

My one and only rep is a Radiomir from Robert. Great rep but I am sure Gen feels better on wrists!

Any much worse on pockets!

Anyone help me with a basic Omega PO rep. I am after something which is closer to Gen. Looking for a short cut to some article here as I am sure a lot of us have done the research.

Not really, from all my gens and reps some reps feel better than some gens and vice-versa. Most of the time the same type of metal is used, so the difference is very minimal.

So you think buying a Gen Speedmaster for everyday wear is actually not a sensible option given the reps are very good and will produce the same result for a fraction of the price. I might have to reconsider my near final plan to buy the speedy.

Tommy_Boy !Yup I found your hamilton for USD 336 on a site.

Seems I will need to refrain from spending money on my Omega Speedmaster. Although i am getting a good offer on it.

The Speedmaster is another story, I love my gen speedy moon, but truth be told I rarely wear it. No rep as of yet can replicate it well, but let's say, a Rolex Date-Just, well, I'd rather buy the rep. So, it depends on what we're comparing, and how we manage it, for example, oiling the bracelet will make it really comfortable and smooth.

guanaco thanks mate.

I reached exactly the same conclusion. I bought the Gen speedmaster date. Waiting for it to come through yet. A new one with warranty! want to wear it every day in office.

I am sure i will be happy with an Omega Gen on my wrist. As you said Rolex will be a rep. I bought a PAM and now its Aquaracer 500's turn ! i missed on one today but will get one ASAP.

In short you are right. Gen is a Gen if the price is in limits.

Cheers!

One more minor point! After seeing Hamilton's now I love em. Gonna get one for everyday wear. Afterall they got Gen ETA movements.

No prob. Here's another thought of mine, Hand-Wind PAMS for example, I love them, however I'm not paying $3,000-$30,000 for a gen with a modified base ETA movement inside, it's ridiculous, if they were $1,500 or less I'd consider it, but since that's not happening I'll stick with reps.
