Very sinister, someone running a 5th gen PO scam on WUS?

What a plonker this guy is LOL.

Did he not think that a site called Omega Fake Busters would never notice !!!!!

Too bad for him but he took a risk buying without any verification at all. I would at least have demanded a dated movement shot..Oh well...sigh.

It's a UPO. Bad break. :(

Is it? :) wasn't sure myself, could've been a few more caught out, not nice to see this sort of thing happen.

From what I can see reading it, he seems to have posted a single ad separately in the sales section on the site and listed no pictures on site, then forwarded them via email to anyone that wanted them. Quite a few jumped in by the looks of it!

Yes, I agree, I don't understand why these people don't 'buy the seller' as they say anymore these days....strange!

That thread is interesting reading.
One benefit of being rep-aware is that if you ever consider spending that sort of money for a gen, at least you know what to look for.

Absolutely, no question about it! I love my gens and reps but if I'm going to shell out serious money on a gen (which I have done!) then everything has to be right about the situation, and I have to know what I'm getting.... otherwise walk away, there's always another day!

Also what is interesting about this scenario is what possesses someone to go and rip off people like that so blatantly? We are all into our reps but that sort of impulse never crosses our minds...well the absolute vast majority of us anyway.
We all see reps for what they are, and we are happy with what we see, but a serious line is crossed when someone wants to take another persons hard-earned and can still sleep soundly at night. Interesting indeed!

I agree with you. Untill I found this site last year I had no idea of the amount of good quality reps out there. Many are truly stunning and the untrained eye would not notice any minor discrepancies.

Though you'd have thought the buyer would have asked for the serial number and more information. I think we can all learn from this mans mistake. I hope he gets his money back.

I'm a little confused as I am sure during that thread someone said the watch they bought was verified as authentic by there Omega dealer and they got a good deal?
I am far from an expert but even I could tell that was a fake from the initial photos (thanks to this site)
have I missed something?

The buyer bought an omega from a local guy after the fake and had IT authenticated by Omega.

Who went in there and said it might be a 5th gen PO? LMAO.. they don't know what that is there.

shamardal you should edit your post. You just outed yourself for associating in reps on gen board. Not a cardinal sin but... they might ask you more questions....

They really need to contact the police. If that guys done that to 5 people, that they know of, at $2000 each then he tried to rip people off to the tune of $10,000.

How many more people has he duped? I'd get my money back via paypal and report him to the police. Its no different than any other fraud.

Banned a member here on RWI. One of his emails from WUS matched one of those registered here on RWI. [BLINK]Do not post this on WUS! I will ban you. We don't want the attention.[/BLINK] But we do hate folks who try and pass on reps as gens.. We really hate that! We will find you. Don't do it.
