Hello everyone, long time lurker over here.
Was wondering about buying a Vacheron Constantin 4500v Overseas, particularly the blue dial version. I´m already aware of the issues with the DW alignment and the missing groove on its dial, that is present in gen. I can live with both of those issues.
I already referred myself to the guide and many QCs of both MKS and ZF/PPF versions for it, and was aware that up until a week ago aprox. both used a modified Miyota 9015 movement, which tends to be a little noisy, even more so than its gen counterpart.
My biggest issue is going for MKS of PPF. I was convinced the PPF version was the superior choice, but recently I inquired Steve (TheOneWatches) about this, and he said that ZF has recently been seized, that they changed the movement to a 8000 series miyota instead of the 9015 we are accustomed to (an inferior movement that costs around 28$ on Aliexpress) and that he reccomended the MKS version as the superior choice nowadays to ZF/PPF, which took me by surprise as there is a 200 USD difference between both.
There is quite little information out there about the MKS version, so I honestly do not know what the main differences with PPF is or what its main faults are besides the ones I highlighted above in the beggining of the post. Would gladly appreciate any advice from anyone that has had any or both versions, and could guide me towards the current better choice. I am not planning on going the Franken route as of today, rather enjoy it out of the box, along with an extra rubber strap I will be purchasing for it (the quick strap change system is there for a reason and I´m planning to use it, hahah). Went over all of Mayor Williams post history trying to look for an answer, but could only find at 2 years ago he opted for MKS, and recently switched over to PPF, but that was before PPF chose to change their movement. Is the finishing/polishing subpar, is the dial´s sunburst somehow inferior?
I can´t help but feel like there is something I´m missing
Would love to see pics of your own Vacherons to be able to compare and hear your advice regarding this topic.

Best regards,
a Vacheron lover.
