I messaged Lucian regarding the first and second reps (I don't count a Instagram shitter from a drunken pub night great idea for £295 with a 2813 in it) I ever bought as the PZ VC has a skipping GMT hand but kept time reasonably well and the DSSD would just stop ticking altogether. Despite what was a pretty hefty workload Lucian was in full comms the whole time and stripped down the DSSD and sent a picture of a screw rattling around the movement! A full stripping and service of the mechanism and waterproofing alongside photos the whole way and a new Rolex 3135 mainspring later the watch is keeping time at +/-2 seconds per day it seems and is an absolute joy to wear again! The PZ VC he was able to run a diagnostic on and determine that a new mechanism would be required but it was not in the wheelhouse for him to work on. I am not overly in love with the watch anyways so hopefully someone on this forum will want a project watch very soon! The key here is that he was happy to look at it, honest about the situation, and while he spent time on it did not charge me for looking at it.
From a service perspective, it was a quick process that looked every bit as thorough as QC that I've had from Rolex, Hublot, Breitling, IWC, or Montblanc for a fraction of the price. And took about 20% of the time to get the watch back! I plan on using Lucian for servicing all of my watches that I end up keeping as I think it's a good way to add a load of longevity to these watches and would encourage anyone in the UK to do the same.
