I'm writing this review today since we're in full Hulk hype. Lots of messages, threads and comments about the ZZF V3, ZF, VSF and Noob v11 new releases, while the underdog V6F is not receiving much attention. I Can get why but I will state in this paper, once around the wrist, whythese concerns may fade faster than a beat.
Let's start with technical details.
Differently from many of its cousins, the VSF carries an A2824-2 Movement, which leads to the same 4hz frequency as the vs3135, vr3135 and gen 3135, apart from:
- winding crown direction, which is reverted;
- date change, which works by slightly swifting the today's date down a bit at 11.35pm, to jump to the next one at 12.
I know many of you correctly evaluate the crown position, so here you have the side pic of it:
Details:
DW: Apart from a really unnoticeable-from-the-wrist left swift, the DW is gorgeous. Font is 1:1 with gen.
Xtal: TD lists the VSF as a sapphire xtal. I couldn't relly tell the difference with a mineral xtal, but the effect is amazing. Clarity looks exactly as RXF's LN and, even if V6F LN showed in the past mockups of the crystal that was evidently tall when compared to the bezel height, I can 100% affirm this is not a problem in this model, as you can even see in the previos picture.
Cyclops: it is water clear with the correct magnification ratio and sporting a fancy blueish reflection on the upper angles. It even manages to match the famous "white bezel" around it which is often used to immediately spot a gen from replicas.
Fonts: I am not a true expert, so I will let you decide via the pictures, what I can say it's that it's really sharp and solid with a bold white color, very different to the poor craftwork which is typical to "shitters".
Rehaut: the font of the engravings is really good (sharp and well positioned). Compared to ZZF it is less evident and it does not reflect the "ticks" of the bezel on it, at least at naked eyes.
LEC: present, well positioned, dotted, sharp and difficult to see at naked eyes (to me every box is checked)
SELs: Judge with the pics, to me they are perfect. Sturd links which are perfectly positioned.
Bezel rotation: I have only seen Gen's rotation via videos, so I can't really compare. To me it has a satisfying movement and sound. If I had to guess according to my little experience, sound is a bit louder than gen (I am available to post a video if someone is interested).
Bracelet: It is advertised as 904L and being whiteish and shiny I am prompted to believe it really is.
Clasp: Clasp code is T1G, so it may be same/related to Noob V10. The self adjusting mechanism is smooth (even if not 1:1 with gen) and you'll be able to use it successfully at the first try.
Let's now talk to the elephant in the room: Dial and Bezel Color.
If you stepped into TD's websites as this you may (as I did) noticed they are both darker than ZZF's and VSF's (to state two). I considered it as a flaw but i bought it anyway.
Despite all of the concerns, I need to say that this decision somehow works: the darker shade starter point manages to let the watch to cover any expected gamma of the hulk's color range, from the pastel-black low light, to the full green under direct light. The engravings on the bezel are shiny in a good way (no "white paint effect" at all, and it's like they really are filled with platinum, even if it is evidently not the case. I'll post you pictures to express what I mean.
Please let me know if I can further help you with additional info, this watch sits now a 358$ and, IMHO, represents a 100% good option to whom are not able/wanting to spend the VSF and ZZF requested price.
