V6 Factory Blue Pelagos, photographic review

Preface
I previously owned the black Pelagos from the V6 factory (V6F) and found it received little to no wrist time, so I let it go. It was very well built, but too monochromatic. It was a great watch. I let it go only after I saw the blue version announced at Basel over a year ago. I had asked Kuvarsit about this watch sometime last year and they said they were working on it, but not ready yet. I was excited. Later ZF showed off a gen they would use to reproduce it and it seems twice the V6F has beat them to it.

I have owned many reps and find the V6Factory to be one of the best, up there with Noob (if not better) and JF. I own the Black Bay, with dark blue bezel from the Z factory and it is a good watch. I like it a lot as well and while it doesn't get a lot of wrist time, I can't let it go. I have not owned the Z factory Pelagos, so I cannot speak to which is better. From the online TD photos, in my opinion the V6F looked better as far as the He escape valve fit and font, at least for the black V1 versions. When the first Pelagos was on preorder I switched from Zf to V6F because the V6 looked better to me and it became available first. I am very familiar with the quality. With very few exceptions the V6Factory is phenomenal in my opinion. I am a V6F fanboy. :nerd:

The watch is beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. The blue is stunning... is it clear I love this watch? I wore a different watch the other day and I missed it!

The best:

The hands are gorgeous, and the near proximity of the hands to the crystal, shallow rehaut, barely enough clearance, precise fit... the white hand appears to sweep very precisely probably due to the contrast between the pure white hands and the bright blue dial.

The dial and markers are gorgeous.

The He escape valve

The blue-- I said it before and will again... the tone is almost iridescent blue... great contrast to the Ti gray

The bezel--the teeth on the bezel, the blue, the luminous markings

The overall finish--very V6F... super rep

The crown-- it is very well delineated.

The crystal--great AR, probably single-sided, and nicely bevelled.

The flaws.
1) Perhaps it is QC but I think the solid end-link (SEL) gap is too large for a modern Rolex product. There are exceptions but this is the tell for me.

The fit of the SEL is also unlike the gen, in that it protrudes slightly. The V6F has disappointed me in this regard before, with the Omega Globemaster bracelet SELs, making them one piece with engravings to simulate two piece. V6F has cut some corners

2) The color of the bracelet vs the case of the Ti is also off a little bit. Perhaps they are different grades. Not sure how the gen is in this regard, perhaps it's gen-like.

3) Some have pointed out the blue on the bezel is brighter on the V6fac than it is on the gen, I had not noticed until it was pointed out in another thread. It appears to be the case the V6Fac more closely matched the dial color to the bezel than even the gen. lol

4) the matte dial texture is a little bit irregular, barely noticeable, it is lumpy.

5) the bezel numbers are a little bit fat, perhaps overfilled, vs gen.

6) QC perhaps, the clasp has a slightly larger gap on one side (right) than the other on the flip lock buckle part, and the little dot on the clasp cut-out doesn't perfectly align with the indicators.

Conclusions.
If you like this watch, get it. If you like blue divers watches, get it. If you like blue watches--get it! If you are waiting for ZF to come, help yourself. I wish it had better SEL fitment is my gripe.

Thanks for the review and pictures! A few questions if you don't mind :
1. How is the clasp adjustment? Does it function well and allow you to easily resize throughout the day/week as your wrist size changes?
2. How is the weight? Does it feel heavy and move around on your wrist or is it pretty light with the titanium?
3. How big is your wrist? I've got a 6.75" wrist and my Christopher Ward c60 was top big and heavy at 42mm. I'm a little worried about the size of the pelagos but I want one SO bad.

1. Clasp adjustment is great and I do use it at times
2. Weight is great
3. My wrist is about the size of yours. It's comfortable to wear kind of doesn't slip
