UPO w/ ETA movement transplant?

Hello all,

I have a UPO with an ETA 2824 movement. It is currently running fast and needs service.

I also have a spare ETA 2824 from an old rolex sub that works perfectly. Rather than send the whole watch out, I was wondering
if the ETA from the old sub will work with the UPO eta hands? I'd rather not tear down my prized UPO only to find out the hands dont fit on the replacement ETA.

ETA 2824 will exchange for another 2824 perfectly. Movements are identical so, all is the same. This will work without a hitch.

Make absolutely sure you have the tools and patience to do this. Keyless works? Do you know what these are and how to avoid messing them up? 4 out of 10 times these go wacko and require a complete disassemble and overhaul. Sometimes, its best just to get it serviced and avoid from having to overhaul 2 of them. MHO is all. In addition would you not have to do a datewheel swap?

Yeah, I have most of the tools and patience...

I didnt end up swapping them movements because the datewheels are different.

I am just going to order a 2824 and swap it out.

Is it worth it to buy a COSC 2824?
