Awaiting my QC pics from Lucy on the 42mm UPO SS/Orange I ordered this week and I found a 45mm Gen for sale on my local buy and sell. Pristine / 9.5 out of 10. He wants $3750. Giving it some serious thought. I've yet to see it and I am only going on owners description. If description of condition is accurate this is a good price is it not? All boxes and papers inc.

Ok, just to correct you. There is no 42MM UPO. It's referred to a 42 PO V5 (Aluminum 2500) or 42 CrPO Ceramic 8500. Congrats though! Awesome watch!

Gen 45.5 Aluminum 2500 for 3750.00? Or do you mean the Ceramic? Price is steep for the 2500 if that is the one.

Thanks guys.

The pre-owned one is not the ceramic but rather just a 45mm SS w. orange aluminum bezel insert.

I built a Ultimate UPO Pumpkin with Gen movement for 1200.00. 3700 is way too much in my opinion. I would say 2800 at most with bracelet.

I'm meeting the owner later this week. They said they would not go below $3K and I said I would not pay that much but that we might be very close... If it's as clean as they say I would go $2,800. I'll start at $2,500 and maybe they'll bite. $2,500 in one pocket and $300 in the other!

Picked up the gen 45mm

It's as new. Had to look with my loupe to find even hairline scratches.

Box, papers all excellent.

He wanted $3,750 and I told him (via e-mail) that was too high. He said $3K and I said I would have to see it.

Saw him tonite and offered him $2400, he said $2800 and we split the diff and gave him $2,600.

Would have preferred to pay $2,400 but I'm pretty happy with my purchase and as for the rep 42mm on the way I will probably flip it or depending how it stacks up I may get a gen orange croc for it.

The guy had a couple other cheaper gens (3 Movados, a T-Race Tissot and a Gucci G watch) may the Gucci is not bad and he only wants about $350 for it.

I just got the rep and it is excellent but now that I have gen I'm undecided... The rep is awesome. Top of the line 42mm. It just arrived yesterday and I may post it on the for sale section here. Or keep it and put on an orange croc.

Its one of those things. I'm happy I bought the gen but wow, could I have bought a lot of super reps with what I spent. If I had the rep before I saw the gen I might have saved my money.

Here it is still wrapped. The bezel insert was shipped separate.

I hear of guys spending a fortune to frank / mod this watch. That's cool but it is a true super-rep and shouts genuine. Only very close or side by side inspection "may" tell the tale.

I looked it under my magnifying lamp and loupe and was amazed with the detail and the feel of the bracelet is very close to gen (that has always been my sticking point with Rolex reps)

I put it up there with my Pam 299 and in close to the same league as the latest version of the AP Diver.

Umm so this is a pre-sale of a watch? Please edit out your pricing details and intentions. This leads to back door sales with no record in correct section. This protects you as well as everyone else. Another good reason for this rule is that all user groups including, multiple accounts and coppa can read this thread. Those are not ideal target buyers for you. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Thanks, you did the right thing. ;) trust me on this, I've seen some ugly actions behind the scenes.

Maybe a dumb question, but why did your bezel insert come separate? I just ordered an orange one but I might rather have the grey one. Is it possible to order just the grey insert? And is it hard to replace it? Thanks.

When Lucy got it it came with the bezel insert seperate. Its simply held in with adhesive tape. She asked if I wanted installed, I said no and that I would do it. I suppose u could order it with grey but if yours came affixed you wiould have to remove it. Nit sure how. I'd see a watchmaker or keep asking questions.

if you paid $2600 for a mint 2500c/d PO, you did great. I bought mine new for $2795 back in 2010. You got a steal. The guy is an idiot wanting more than what you paid at first, and as far as I know the 2500 PO hasn't gone up in price. Good job.

Didn't realize they were trying to replicate the movement details in the 8500 either.

He bought it at Mall of America and paid 4,250 and then paid 12 % when he brought it back to Canada. It looks unworn so I guess he was hoping to get more money by asking $3750.

I'm very happy with the deal and he needed the money.

Win-win!

And yes, they did a pretty decent job with the glass back on the rep.
