Many of you know how much I like the Omega Planet Ocean. Simply put, it is a clean, classy and Bond-ish piece.

I have owned at least 6 of them not counting this one. And this one was an accident. I purchased it from a member who listed it as a 4th Gen PO(42mm).
The seller and I worked out a civil compromise because I decided to keep her.

Here she is before the transformation:

We have all seen R2D4's PO Gen Part Comparison threads. They are awesome. I wished to take this beauty to the next level.
And guess who I asked to hold my hand. Who else? R2D4!

I ordered from Otto Frei the following:

1 Omega Dial For Caliber 2500 OME-2500-DIAL#3 $242.00
1 Genuine Omega Cal 2500 Hour & Minute Hands Silver Arrow With Luminous 14.85 mm longHAN-4221 $38.00
1 Genuine Omega Cal 2500 Second Hand Silver Arrow Luminous With Red Tip 15.0 mmHAN-4222 $17.60
1 Omega Stainless Steel Crown 42184 8100/3905W $38.00
1 Omega Case Tube 090ST1232 OME-090ST1232 $6.60

And I picked up a gen bezel insert off the bay.

And when the parts came in I was going to send it all out to G for the build. He was busy and I couldn't wait any longer. R2 said he could give it to Katt for me.
After R2 received it, he sent me this text "I will do this switch myself". I was blown away.

R2 did the crown tube, dial and hands swap. He swapped the rep pearl for the gen.(Perfect fit)

He re-seated the crystal without scratching the AR. The only difficulty was cutting the stem to fit with the new crown. Katt enters stage right and fixes it.
Then off she was back to my bare wrist in a day.

I had her pressure tested and she passed 3 Bars.

Here she is now:

That is awesome looking. Between you and Katt that is very nicely done. Unfortunately I am going to have to stop reading your threads because every time I do I want another watch just like the one you were working on! LOL

Great job guys!

R2 helped me out on my franken build too (which I only finished this weekend) so I'll be posting up a similar thread myself soon enough. Glad to see you got yours done, and it looks great!

I don't think the rubber strap gets enough credit.
So here's a bump for the rubber!

@ Q5? : it is a nice franken but you should change the date wheel for the one with font in bold ... That give to the date and the watch a BIG difference :)

uwe01datewheel.jpg

if you order the date wheel at cousinsuk just aske before for the one with bold caractere as you may receive the wrong one.
Datwheel 2557/1 for 2892 compatible with 2824-2

Inus, I am working on getting a date wheel. Good advise. I need to fix the stem also and will do both at the same time. :)
