Upgrading the movement in my SOSF?

I absolutely love my SOSF, its the newer case, updated second hand, sapphire, AR and all markings - it's perfect - however its a low beat Asian.

I do love it, and I now know I should have made sure it was the movement that I wanted - It was mentioned that it was a high beat however its def not a 28.

Where do I start by going about getting this upgraded? Should I even attempt myself? Is it worth it?

I also want to get it lumed as well, can anyone on here swap it over to a high beat and lume it? That would make this perfect....

Here's a link to a detailed lo to hi beat swap on a Sub, not an SOSF but you'll get the drift, the DG4813 movement is cheap to buy, try Ofrei. By the way the lume job on SOSF's is considered one of the best in rep world, so I don't know how much of an improvement you'd get with a relume...

Yeah it really does. The ST16 was a decent upgrade, but after my ETA UPO I just look down upon my SOSF. In reality I think I will just get an ETA (or clone) SOSF in the coming weeks and sell my franken SOSF.

Well I guess if you've really got yourself into the beat thing then you gotta do what you gotta do. If you got 2824 you'll need new hands ans stem. Very possibly a new CT. You would be better off just selling it.

Personally I would not worry buying from Ofrei :

That's a link to "official" clones of the ETA 2824 :)
(BTW this seller has a "small" pilot watch I do want)
I trust these movements much more than the dirty "surplus" Swiss ETA we might have got in our reps. 2 years warranty.

But as Fakey said, you might have a hands problem.

I have an Asian version, believe it or not, it's my most accurate running watch. Far better in accuracy than my socalled Swiss ETAs. The only upgrade I'd do on the Asian is a sapphire crystal + AR, as I find the lume excellent already...

I do plan on just getting an ETA Clone SOSF in the very near future and I may keep this for parts and it's bracelet - I'll order one with a strap instead :)

Sapphire with the asian movement???? Are you Sure??? this was not an option that I am aware of.
If that is the case, T4D has transplanted the movement, etc...

Yes, it's sapphire with Asian movement, AR and updated second hand. I have one which was my first ever forum rep purchase from TTK before I knew any better. As far as I know only T4D and TTK has these, must be from a specific source in BKK.

I have one from T4D. Swiss case and sapphire AR'd crystal with Asian movement.

Although the AR doesn't stand out too much on the white face, it's definitely there.
