Hi there,

I thought i should throw this question out there for you PAM lovers.

Never liked PAM before, but bought a 111h from T4D for less than $100 and grown to like it and wear it daily.

The watch is awesome, however, i can see some flaws even though im not an expert, for example, its lume and no swan neck. The leather band has some wear on it already. Should I get a deployment clasp band (always want it) for around $50 or shell out over $400 for Davidsen's 111h?

Panerai watches benefit tremendously from straps.

It makes such a difference to have a comfortable strap that you love on a PAM.

Get a strap, upgrade the watch later if you still feel the need. And you can continue to use the strap with the new watch.

Look at it this way. If you upgrade the strap, you can use it on a better watch later. Even if you upgrade the watch, you're going to need a better strap.

Get a new strap. And when you get tired of the watch but a new strap and it will seem like a new watch again. Lol it saves money!

The thing with Panerai watches is that there is an entire sub culture of strap collectors. There are members on this forum who have many many many straps. And the great thing is, with a simple screw driver you can completely change the look and feel of the watch.
That was my reason for starting to make straps... I change them almost daily, and I am constantly asked "is that a new watch"?
Get a new strap, try it out... and then if you decide to buy a DSN, you have a nice strap to put on it.

I would advise against a deployant buckle. I think the PAM deployants are uncomfortable. Go with a regular buckle and get something custom :)!

Cheers,

I do agree with Savage. A PAM should be worn on a nice tang-buckle, preferably on a Pre-V style the size of a whales tail fin :D

By the way, savage has a sale going on ;)
