I like the 396. I don't think we will see a real super rep of this anytime soon though

I doubt we'll super reps of any of these since they all have display CB's and inhouse movements.

Great looking watches nevertheless, especially the the one with the ceramic bracelet and the pvd'd movements look sweet. And whats up with the GMT hand without am/pm indicator or 24h markings?

Just a NOOB here so be gentle. It appears that the crown lock lever for lack of a better term
Has quite a different profile on the tip than most current models. Is it just my aging eyes?

Hi grant
It is not your mistake or your eyes
It is just and simply that they have different profile in comparison with other PAM models

Thanks ALE. Knew the ol peepers aren't what they used to be but we were getting a little concerned, especially since we quit drinking and can't blame it on the booze!

Thanks jonas, those new PAMs are very nice.

I like 399 better than others, but 47mm is too big.

Any one saw one of these cases in 44mm (no holes in the CG place) to make a project?

Another model with this kind of case and crown in 44mm?

Cheers and nice watches anyway.

Check this out, A new ceramic tourbillon pocketwatch from Panerai seen at SIHH. Thoughts, a prototype?
It seems it's pretty much the same as the "Lo Scienziano", which is the skeleton Radiomir GMT tourbillon (PAM348).

http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2012/1/18/spy-shot-a-ceramic-tourbillon-pocketwatch-from-panerai.html
Historically, Panerai is known for oversized cases containing pocketwatch movements. So it was only logical that one day Panerai would make a pocketwatch but we didn’t expect this. Something of a design exercise, this prototype pocketwatch is on display in a darkened room at Panerai’s booth at SIHH (hence the grainy photo). Actually, the glass case this watch is held in appears to have some sort of photography distoriting properties to it.

The skeletonized case, which bears more than a passing family resemblance, is entirely made of ceramic and so is the chain. The movement is Panerai’s handwound P.2005B (for “black”) calibre with tourbillon and GMT indication. There's no official word if and if or when it might make it into production but there are rumors to that effect. You heard it here first.
