Hey - they only said Ultimate Edition Improved... not AAA+ 1:1 Super Ultimate Supreme Edition Version 12 - which, by the way, will have the exact same flaws.

There is no such thing as the perfect rep, Relojero.

Honestly, if those minor flaws in the crown guard are going to bother you, you need to be looking at gen watches instead of reps.

Guys, I am only saying I want ... something with craftsmanship... So who provides good mods for that?
anyone?

Thank you guys for understanding and instructing me... it is definetly a learning curve...

Craftsmanship when concerned with reps is too subjective, who decides what quality is, us or the factory?

The factory churns out watches that run and look decent to the common eye. The rep factory does not obsess over the details that a gen manufacture would, there's no reputation at stake in the eyes of the rep factory. Plus there's a cost issue that I will not even get into.

The reality is you're buying a counterfeit watch, made illegally in China, imported illegally, and sold on the black market.

Be happy it works and keeps decent time, if not buy a gen.

I can't talk about PAMs because they're not my thing. But I will comment on two things. First quality. On that I think Hooli said it best. Second craftsmanship. Specifically your combininng the words 'craftsmanship' and 'mods' in the same sentence. If you want craftsmanship that requires extreme attention to detail which will not come from a sweatshop as hubrisin said. If you are looking to alter something to make the appearance more, not exactly like, but more like the gen then that is a mod.

hell, there isn't even "perfect" in gens; I found that out the hard (expensive) way. With most of our same keen eye and OCD nutty obsession over the details, not even any gens pass QC for most folks here. I was dumbfounded when I saw variability in gen Rolexes and PAMs, etc. For $50k+ Pateks and Vacherons, etc., the craftsmanship significantly increases, but at the end of the day, they're all watches.

Truth be told, Timex keeps better time than any of those brands.

Hey be nice... and you know what we all want ... nice Replicas... You won't buy a factory 8 replica Cobra... because they suck ins't it. You buy 'cause it is the best replica. So there be nice. I am only trying to learn here...

You caught me in a bad mood, sorry for going apesh!t.

I understand the need to learn , the thirst and frustration is pretty high when getting started with reps. You want the best and as close to gen but as you learn you can't have it without some work (or alot).

My advice to a noob is to find a model you like, or some features that appeal to you. For instance, I like titanium cases only so I look at those models, and I look for rep cases which are close to gen. Start with a strong case, that's your canvas. Second, focus on a good movement, it's easy to forget since it's in the background but again this is a watch and you want a dependable unit. A good 6497 manual is a good choice, swiss or asian will be fine. I'm very skeptical about Asain automatics, they're not quite there yet....

The rest of the watch you can add and mod later.

Vacuum appears to make great looking watches that are Pam-alike, never had one of his but had been tempted before. Try to look 'em up. His lumes are great too as an extra (have a modded one by him).

Even vaccum just uses off the shelf rep cases. Sorry, guys, but the simple fact is that we are stuck with the current makers of these cases for the time being. There is some hope of 1 or 2 "boutique" case makers coming out with some stuff in the near future, but I don't know of anything readily available.

That's the reality of the rep community as it is today, unfortunately.
