I am not stood above a table of cheap tat or stolen razor blades in a bazaar haggling with you - we are civilised(ish) people, conducting ourselves on the internet as we may, and I have a price in mind which I will convey clearly in the ad copy.
This advert is not an invitation for you to low ball or haggle, and thus, if you seek to lowball or haggle, your uninvited overtures will be ignored, causing you perhaps profound upset of your own making.
To proclaim “I want it” or “I’ll take it” in this day and age is not the same as it was when Captain Cook did the same in Botany Bay - which is to say, your proclamations are just those, your own proclamations, and I shall select my buyer.
I will post via Royal Mail Special Delivery to addresses in the UK, at my cost. I will post elsewhere on earth at my discretion but basically, I will add to the cost of RMSD whatever the difference would be for your locale, and you would pay that plus the watch if you are outside the UK.
Now then, formality out of the way… this is a watch which, by all rights, I should love.
A nice glossy dial, good indices showing markedly better lume than my 39mm Clean Explorer - this here 40mm Explorer has it all. I’d wanted to get this for a good while and when Saed FINALLY got one in stock, I pounced.
And alas, I do not love it as much as the 39mm for a couple of reasons - none of which may interest you, and you are thus welcome to skip this section if you are so pressed for time that you simply must. And anyway, I won’t stop you, I’m not a cop or anything.
In that 1mm in dial size, things change, and I am reminded I am a man getting older by that change, for this is a younger man’s Explorer.
In that 1mm additional width in the dial, the full story is not told.
The SELs are a little bit further down the curvature of the wrist on the 40mm - perhaps 1mm each side. But that 3mm means to me, in my neurodivergent exasperation, amounts to a perception that I am wearing not an Explorer, but in fact, a small steel dinner plate upon my wrist.
And for that reason, out the door it shall go… perhaps to you, dear lucky reader.
I paid £390.73 according to my bank statement, and I out a Polywatch coating on it - I’d like £390.00 back.
