Type of Movement?

Hi all fellow forum members,

Just would like to ask which movement is this on my VINTAGE omega SMP (for real its like 12 years old already)
It already went bonkers from like 6 years back and now I am looking to replace it but the plastic movement ring/holder is keeping my options into only replacing it with the exact movement.
Otherwise advise me guys if the plastic movement can accept a clone 2824 movement or do I need a metal movement ring and holder with the screws.
I want to keep my budget on a minimum, I have a gen dial that I have to use on this watch (from a 2531.80)

Unfortunately it's not that simple to upgrade the movement. You have a 2813 now. To upgrade to a 2824/2836, you need a hand set, and the dial feet will need to be clipped and the movement ring is the wrong diameter. Just swap in another 2813 and enjoy it!

how about a 8215 miyota movement swap? will it fit the plastic movement holder? and I need new set of hands right?
last question evene if I upgrade to a 2836/2824 or a clone ETA 2892 - the gen dial's feet needs to be clipped??

Depends on the movement which was used. The Omega 1120, 2500, etc are 2894 based so dials and hands are interchangeable.

Miyota 8215 will fit the case, the movement ring and the hands will fit, but the second hand may be a little difficult to get on.

The gen dial is not directly compatible with asian 2836 2824 movements? Cause you suggested the dial feet to be clipped. Otherwise if i had the gen 2892 omega movement it will be a straight drop right?

The Miyota is a more reliable, better made movement. I didn't say it's not going to fit, just that the second hand can sometimes be a little difficult to fit.

perhaps broaching a more wider hole for the handset could be an easy task is such a rocket science thing to do?
