Tudor Snowflake Budget Build

This is my first real build and I'm very happy with the way it came out. It's based on a cartel 5512 which I got a few days ago. It has a 2813 movement, so obviously this was meant to be a budget build. Today I got a nice little package from Rafflestime that included the hands and dial. It took very steady hands and some patience to get everything disassembled and put back together, but everything went back where it was supposed to go. I love the finished product and for my money, this is one of the most beautiful watches ever produced.

Thanks! I was trying to decide whether to go all out and reshape the CG's, drill the lug holes to fit gen spec spring bars, engraved caseback, and on and on. But I knew it would get arduous at some point and if you're not willing to do that stuff yourself, the price starts to double very quickly!

That and a gen crystal. This one scratches ridiculously easy! Easier than any plexi I've seen.

I'm looking into a new crystal, as this one scratches very easy and magnifies the dial like crazy. I've seen that the Clark t19 makes the Renault look weird. Is my best option going to be the Sternkreuz service crystal?

From my past experience bud, go the Sternkreuz, the Clark crystal indeed warps the rehaut and is not good!

I put a new sternkreuz service crystal on today. It looks miles better than the original crystal! It doesn't magnify and appears to be a lot more scratch resistant. This is a must for anyone doing this build based on a cartel 5512.

......looks really gorgeous to me - love the jubilee bracelett too - I personally prefer the rivet bracelett on old TUDOR watches.....
