Tudor shield or rose?

Planning on purchasing a Tuder shield or rose. I prefer the look of the shield but I'm afraid it's to thick at 14.8mm compared to the rose which is 11mm. Any opinions on which is better? I know it's a hard question and is different from person to person but I just want some external opinions. I will be using it to school, nothing special really.

I've also heard roomers and read reviews that the shield is of better quality, am I right?

It seem to me the real height of the rose is more like 13mm, the 11mm are measured without the dome maybe. Difference is less than 2mm in my experience, mostly due to different caseback.

And all ZF Shields are about 14,8mm, the TD sites are not always 100% updated, i.e. they just copied the data from the older model.

Seeing as you have the rose, do you consider the “bland” logo (compared to the shield) an issue or something you’ll forget about after a few wears? A friend of mine who has the same one as you said there was a problem with one of the dials being misaligned in heigh, do you have the same problem?

The rose versions are not available anymore, they've been sold out completely, so you don't have to worry about them anymore. The shield version wears like a tower, absolutely disproportionate. The Black Bay 58 is perfect in this regard.

Never had a issue with the height of the dial, and the problem's not that the rose is bland, but missing a petal :/
Had a few shields, sold all of them except the GMT.
The 58 is also nice, hope they get the lume and tube right, than it's a must-have.

To quote myself. Personally, Im a bigger fan of the rose. Fits like a freaking dream. I MIGHT offload my rose on a leather bracelet one of these days, as have a couple lol and a gen Tudor coming.

Beautiful watches both of them, when seeing them compared side by side like this I think I must agree with you. Rose looks a lot more proportional.

I know, it might seem stupid to a person like you, I’m still new to all of this. I checked pretty much all the sites but couldn’t find the one everyone is recommending (The 58), maybe I’m just doing something wrong but I can’t find it

Beautiful, all four of them, do you by chance know the website you got them from? I’m still new to all of this and I’ve checked the TDs but some aren’t even active. This might seem like a stupid question to most of you but I do not have a lot of knowledge regarding this area even though I’ve done a lot of research.

The GMT I got from Nembo at RG, just a 23j one but it really looks good, the others M2M on RWI and RG......The 7928 got a gen ETA built in by a friend of mine, the Rose BB and Shield BB have an A2824 inside.
Every TD should be able to get you the new BB's

So far I’m with you, on InTime and PureTime the only shield I could find was 14,8mm thick but with others saying the 58 model being thinner which i am unable to find :/

Really what I’m looking for is the shield on a 41mm watch that is thinner than 14,8mm, is that possible or will I have to go with a 39mm watch to get that?

I’m kind of baffled that you can’t find it as it’s one of the newer watches so will usually be listed around 3rd place in a list of Tudors (as it is on Puretime and InTime) I don’t think it’s called the 58 on InTime and on Puretime it’s “Fifty Eight”, not 58...perhaps you can’t find it on those as you are searching for 58. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
