Tudor Pelagos FXD

TDs are now offering the Tudor Pelagos FXD with a Miyota 8N-24 movement.
My questions:
1) do you know why they switched to a Miyota?
2) I see that the 8-24 is readily available online, but is it a solid, durable movement?

The 8N24 is basically a No-date version of the 82xx. So, probably using it so there's no ghost date position.

The 82xx is a great movement, but, it can stutter.
