Hello all,
Here's my latest build, a Tudor Day Date with silver sculpture dial.
I wanted a day date watch to wear during the holidays as I tend to lose track of what day it is after a while...
* Case: Raffles 36mm with fluted bezel. I have a genuine vintage engine turned bezel that I plan to swap in the future. I will also need to change the crystal as the magnifying glass would benefit from the change. I like the fact that it is sold with spacer and screws.
* Dial: Raffles silver sculptre dial. Again, some indices fell off and had to be glued back... I already have a 34mm Tudor with plain silver + gold dial that I like very much so I wanted to test another dial. At first I thought it looked too white but I'm starting to get used to it... I like gilden indices in a silver case: less blingy and it does give the watch a warmer tone.
* Movement: Asian 2836 bought on Ebay. It is good quality and I removed the stem several times without messing the keyless system.
* Hands: from a set bought from Cousins UK. Good match with the indices.
* Strap: 20mm leather Hirsch bought from Ebay.
As good looking and easier to sport than a fake or genuine Rolex. A classic and good looking watch that cannnot be bought as such. Parts were easy to source and the price remains fair (about 150$ in all). Also, it can be upgraded (aging, crystal swap, bezel swap, genuine ETA...).
