Mineral crystal isn't that weak. I've seen people take a hammer to it and not break it first or even second try.
Hi, the blue is still on it´s first release but the $300 version comes with a better movement and sapphire crystal. The V3 is the red one. Fine watch, either, get it

Tbh I care less abt movement and crystal for this price. But is everything else same as the v3?

It looks like this cheaper v3 was made for mass production, which I suppose is a good sign as far as the model itself goes.
I didn't realize there was only one released version of the blue. I really love the blue. If I got the beater version, is it possible to upgrade the glass at a later time?

I'd buy the ETA clone. No point in buying the cheaper one and upgrading the 21J later on with the crystal and what not. The higher end versions price difference isn't that much and very worth it in my opinion. Even the red v.1's can be had for cheap in the m2m section.
Yep. That is what my boy Ken told me. I have no reason to not believe him so I would say so. Case looks fantastic on it so I would assume it is the same.
We will have to wait, until some members have it and start posting pics. The mineral glass may even be better seated etc. we just don´t know. As for 21j´s, I say "workhorses"
and easy, cheap replacement should something happen. Unless I´m really starring in awe at my seconds hand, I really don´t even see the stutter. What I want to say is, that after You already have some very nice other watches and You just want more, this may be a good choice instead of spending $500 on every new release, it just gets too expensive. At this price level someday I just might add the blue one when I´m ordering something else, no harm done. In my opinion it´s just good to have a choice at a better price if You want to.

That was my thinking exactly. After dropping $500 and $700 on AP's it is nice to be able to grab something cheap that still looks quite nice.
The BB is a damn handsome watch. For this price I wouldn't hesitate getting one, except that I already own one!
For casual wear, I think this is a great deal. If you're planning on a daily beater then maybe go with the sapphire glass just for peace of mind.

I'm on the fence. I want one as a daily beater...is the mineral typically more "murky" ? Some of the shots on TD sites look pretty cloudy...then again, they don't always up the best quality photos.

That's one of the reasons I'm hesitant. I'm not worried about it shattering or scratching as much as I am that it'd be a "tell" of lower quality, and an obvious mismatch for the watch itself.
