Just thought I'd post something that may not be obvious to some folks. When waterproofing your BB, there are two gaskets inside the crown tube. Below is a picture of the four gaskets that need attention for sufficient waterproofing:

1. Crown gasket
2. Crown tube gasket I
3. Crown tube gasket II
4. Case back gasket

Also, for those wondering, the two crown tube gaskets are identical and therefore interchangeable.

I usually bribe them out with sensual dialog.

haha but on a serious note, I use a small screw driver. While your initial thoughts may be "WAIT! screw drivers are sharp!", there is definitely a right and a wrong way to do it. You should be in good lighting and use magnification so that you can see at least one of the gaskets. What you are trying to accomplish with the screw driver is pushing and not pulling.

Try to get the screw driver on top of the gasket, push down a little bit and the gasket will bend out of its groove and into the tube. Next, just use tweezers to grab it from the tube. When the screw driver is on top of the gasket, you can use the lip of the crown tube for a little leverage. Try to make sure your screw driver has no burs and that you are using the flat edge. You can do this for both gaskets.

Do you grease theses gaskets to help with the waterproofing? If so what grease would you recommend?
