Tudor 9401 - Looking for help

I'm interested in a high quality rep of a Tudor 9401. I'm not concerned with gen parts necessarily but I do want a gen ETA mvmt. I'm also interested in having it pressure tested. I'd like to be able to wear it without worrying about it. I don't do any diving but I am in the woods and on the water a good bit.

Is it worth buying one like this, http://chazingtime.com/product/snow...best-edition-black-dial-square-markers-a2836/ or am I better off sourcing various parts and paying someone to help me build it? Is it realistic to think that someone could help me make that rep more reliable and water resistant?

I'm not interested in building it myself, I'd rather have someone with experience help me. I also don't really care about the bracelet as I would prob wear it on a NATO or leather two piece. I'm also not super concerned with it looking exactly like a gen. I want the look and feel (to the mostly untrained eye) but I want the durability and accuracy of a nicer watch. I'd say my budget would be around 600$

Am I being unrealistic or is this something I can get done?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

These cases are ideal starting points for a good build. There are a few guys on here that will use stock parts and turn them into a very respectable watch. Get the Swiss version and send it off to have it modded, and you'll have close to $600 in it. Pressure testing is another story...

My advice would be save yourself a few bucks and get the A2836 version. They are just as accurate as most standard grade ETA.

zlwelch Does that mean it would be difficult to modify one to make it more water resistant?

Thanks for the info. I think I'll prob buy one of these eventually and just go from there. Hopefully I can find someone willing to help me mod it.

Not necessarily difficult. I've never bothered with it, personally. Yodog will mod a cartel case with all stock parts and make them look great. I haven't used him yet, personally, but have seen pics of his work and am planning on sending a watch to him soon. Search his name, and check it out.
