Tudor 7995 Caseback Dilemma

Bought a Tudor 7995 (34mm) midcase and bezel, no back. I am looking for a back, any back, that will fit the case. I have tried the Raffles 34mm (threaded area to small in diameter) and a Rolex 1500 back – this fits but it does not seat itself far enough into the case. I am thinking of trimming the top surface of the threaded part of the case – the area with the dots. Before I do so I am wondering if anyone knows of any other casebacks that might fit?

This is the gap all the way tightened down.

Hi,

if you decide to go and trim the caseback yourself, the hardest part is to keep it level. I make folding knives as a hobby if you ask me how I know...

The minimalist approach would be getting wet sanding paper from, say, 180 to 600 grit and attach a whole sheet to a flat surface. Water will make it stick well enough to glass or a polished stone tile for the task.
Then, with little pressure, rotating a quarter turn every two or three strokes, you work your way through the grits. Do long, slow and steady strokes using the whole paper evenly. You could use double stick tape on the back to attach a makeshift handle or maybe a caseback opener for better grip and to not scrub off your fingertips.

Pro: hard to mess up unless you get crazy with the scrubbin‘ in the lower grits
Con: tedious if you‘re impatient

I usually go with a good glass of scotch and my choice of calming music...

Bests, Chris.
