So I acquired a scuffed up gilt 7928 Yuki dial that came with a watch and bunch of other parts from someone who couldn't actually build the watch. Actually I think they tossed every watch part they had into the box. Scratches are no big deal on a glossy watch, just matte spray and it disappears. So the gen is this:

So I matte sprayed the dial, stripped the hands on a cartel, and relumed both the hands and the dial.

I had a case but no bezel and insert so I ordered one from WSO. It looks better than the cartel ones, but I can see no way to make it functional. If I use a plexi loose enough for the bezel to turn you can knock off the whole assembly, and if I use a plexi large enough to be firmly held it won't turn. Same thing with a Clark 1675 bezel. Anyway it looks better and my OCD is such that I've been know to glue the bezel so that it is always in the correct position anyway. All in all a decent compromise I guess.

It has a Tropic 39 plexi on it and I've drilled out the lugs and trimmed up the CGs a bit. Could maybe use a bit more of a trim, but I wanted to wear it. So pics:

Nice build! I have been liking Tudor's more and more lately. It shocking how much the vintage models sell for: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/vin...f=207673&t=244903&p=550563&hilit=7928#p550563

I think I've even seen them for 2x this.

I understand your OCD, mine kicked in with my 1675 build - I want my bezels to function without dental floss or whatever. The bezel assembly would work fine until installed with a tight crystal. I noticed the installation over a tight crystal deforms the retaining ring, even if it's just .25mm. To my eye, it appears to bow slightly. Anyways, I've found milling the retaining ring edge allows it to fully function - tightly held in place by the spring when unused, rotates when pushed down.

Here's my link to my RWG post about it since I haven't gone back to re-upload pics from IMGUR to PICR here on RWI: https://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?/topic/142384-1675-clarks-bezel-assembly-issue/

In my experience carefully sanding the outer edge of the retaining ring helped with the non-turning bezel. Of course its risky business 'cause if you sand down too much... it won't hold the outer bezel :)

I read that when you posted it. Good info. I might get to it eventually but honestly I never use the bezel anyway.
