TS 2011 41mm Datejust promo = awesome

Just got this in the mail today from Timeshops. It was advertised in their section as a new promotion.. Here's the link:

I'm far from a datejust expert, but this is a beautiful watch. I like it A LOT more than I thought I would. It is definitely going in the rotation.

It has a great feel to it, and really shines like you'd expect a gen rolex to (though looking at the closeups, it could use a good cleaning... for the record, that's not my dirt, I'v only had this for an hour or so)

If you're on the fence about one of these, go for it. I usually am drawn to the bigger watches, but this is awesome. (I'm not a shill, just really like this one a lot)

Now, tell me what's wrong with it....

What's the rehaut alignment like?

Are the dial markers painted on or metal borders with infill?

Are the gens triplock crowns?

The stick dials are calling me... lol


Have you seen the DayDate models? They look like they have damn near perfect rehaut and look amazing all round, really. And they come on presidential bracelet! I'm just not sure I could carry off a £30k watch in the gen LoL

I think there are some fantasy models on the TS site but some of them are pretty nice! I like the fantasy black MoP dial

Great one! I have one in black dial + sticks on order. Only thing that bothers me if that it should really have a straight line on the crown, not two dots. Have a gander at rolex.com and you'll see that the new 41mm datejust, even if a combo of SS and white gold still have the straight line under the crown, not two dots. Otherwise looks spot on.

Is there AR on the cyclops? I've seen these watches in person and it seems like all of Rolex' lineup includes AR-coated cyclops now

i've got one coming from another one of our trusted dealers (no name mention as i'm a little miffed at the qc service this time around) where the dial looks like it needs to be rotated in the case as you can see the dial printing and even the alignment of the date in the window is off. i asked for another watch but was refused, i then asked that he try to maybe rotate the movement in the case, and was again refused....hhmm, looks like an easy fix to me and as i really wanted the watch had him send it anyway but i must say i was a little pissed...what the hell are qc pics for if you can't pick another one without a flaw?

i'm beginning to see a little trend develop with our dealers here; when they are new they will jump through fiery hoops to please us, but after a bit of time they are not so eager to please.

That pic looks like the watch is rotated a liiiiittle to the left, so it could be just an illusion?

It might just be the datewheel slightly out of alignment?



EDIT: looking again, I see the text does look a little bit out. Perhaps they've aligned the dial to the rehaut?

i did a little photoshop test where i cut out the dial and then slightly rotated it clockwise, everything lines up perfectly so i think taking the dial off and rotating it on the movement will fix everything including the date.
it's what you get when a 12 year old builds your Rolex i guess. ;-)

I see what you mean PWLX, but i'm pretty sure that no one will notice. However, it was sad to hear the the issue of the QC refusals. BTW, nice watch.
