Trying to decide----PAM 212 OR PAM 253

Both very nice, but I'm partial to the 212..its not as colorful and just has a crisp look to it.

One of my fav pams is the 212 fly - it goes with everything.

I'm looking at the PAM212 as well. I don't want to pay for a swiss 7750, so that leaves a choice of the Lemania manual chrono and the asian 7750 28.8k. Any recommendationson these two movements?
Also, is the gen an auto or a handwind?

I have the same question...
My suggestion: compare these to the gens, and see with which of the flaws you can live with...
Also things to consider:
1. Mineral Crystal vs. Sapphire (especially the 212)
2. The 212 with the "right" (internal second markers) is only manual, while the auto has a wrong dial
3. PT has a thread WAY in the past claiming that a new 253 with improved face is imminent (I think it's on TRC, not here). There isn't one yet, but maybe someday...

Flyback means that you can restart the chrono without stopping it - there was a long thread about why this is needed... don't remember where though... (and I don't think ANY replica has that feature anyway)

Hope this helps. Will be happy to know what you chose and why... might help me with my own deliberations...

I'm thinking if I get the 212, and an improved version comes out, then I would be bummed. If I go 253, then waite for the improved 212.

May I ask why? Is this simply closer to the genuine, or is this is an identifying feature of a new/better model?
