Pair of decent experiences with Andrew.
The first; ordered a 1016, got instead in the QC a watch with an Air King dial (ref. 5500 or something like that). After some clarification, Andrew let me know that the 1016 dials were no longer in production, so I cancelled the order. Andrew recommended a 39mm Explorer instead, but after I declined, he refunded my payment with little hassle.
The second; ordered a 6263, quick and clean order.
Sorted out the order and payment in ~1 day,
QC pics arrived in ~1 day,
Watch itself arrived ~5 days or so after QC was greenlit.
After three or so weeks, the watch is keeping good time, although the sweep seconds hand does behave oddly at certain positions, where it ticks only once per second almost like a quartz. In any case, service is fast and professional.
Would recommend!
post script; as an aside to any newer-than-me newbies, from what I can gather, the reason Andrew isn't a TD here is because of a previous dispute regarding a couple of dealers agreeing to fix their prices. While this is definitely a bad thing for us, since it means we get charged more for reps as they don't have to compete on pricing, if you put considerations regarding ethical business practice aside Andrew is as reliable as they come when it comes to just shipping you what you paid for.
