Trusty Time - Great Experience

After much reading in these and other forums, I decided to make my first replica purchases from TrustyTime. I ordered a Rolex Milgauss (ROLMIL005C - $278) and mid-size DateJust (RMDJ0190H - $238) on 26/9. I received immediate confirmation of the order and the QC pictures arrived on 28/9. The Datejust was the wrong model - different colour face and wrong bracelet type. I contacted Andrew who responded immediately. I received new QC pictures, with the correct model, on 29/9.

I received the watches by FEDEX on 10/10 - there was some delay in shipping due to the Chinese holiday. Both watches are excellent and I am very happy with the purchase. Throughout the whole process, from inquiries before ordering to inquiries about shipping, Andrew responded to e-mails the same day and generally within the hour. I will definately be ordering from TrustyTime again. My wife is the camera-operator, so when she get a chance to take some pictures I will post them.

TrustyTime - highly recommended!

John.

Nice to know you like your watch.

This is not a trusted dealer in this forum.

Seems odd that you did not know this.

Across the rep boards as a whole there are just a handful of really good dealers, not all are trusted on every site, but they are trusted on some sites, and trustable.

Sometimes you just happen to buy the seller before the watch no matter the forum. I'm sure maybe he just overlooked the fact that Andrew is not a TD here.. At lease he got his watch without issues like people are seeing at PT.

Sadly, it seems that Andrew gets a higher percentage of positive reviews here than do most of our official TDs.

Glad you are happy with your watches!

And now the obligatory "What Watches? I can't see any watches!!"

As I said, it's nice to know that the OP likes his watch. Now, about the other point:

It's kinda like walking into a Starbucks and handing out coupons for an Egg McMuffin.

Unless when you walk in you don't realize that Starbucks doesn't sell the Egg McMuffin.

Egg McMuffins may be very tasty and a great value. But you're not handing out coupons at McDonalds.

Just my $0.02 USD as always.

I have ordered from a handful of dealers and I go with the ones that meet my needs. At the end of the day it's my dollar I have to worry about.

I ordered two watches from one dealer, one was scratched up and the other had a broken buckle. He wanted $40 for the buckle and offered me off or the scratched up watch, and the buckle still went out airmail and took a month.

Both watches should have never been shipped.

After a while you write off dealers with problems and then who do you go to?

I have ordered from TD's here, RWG and RG. It's just finding who treats you best..

tommy_boy, is by far right on this matter.

Andrew used to be trusted, Not anymore and probably never will be here and for good reason. Look maybe you get a nice one or maybe two, buts theres no doubt he is one of the bait and switch kings. F them look elsewhere or get bent over.

Sure, if it's all about you, I guess.

My perspective is different. I respect the people who run this place.

These are dealers of counterfeit goods. My expectations are not high.

The low post noobs who drop these gushing posts praising the twins are probably shills for the cartel. This is the cynic in me who's talking here, perhaps. I've seen a couple of dozen such posts. They rarely post again (in their love thread or elsewhere) afterward.

As others mentioned, TrustyTime is a trusted dealer on other sites (e.g. RepGeek). Anyway the reasons I decided to buy from TrustyTime:

1) Reputation: I started on these forums and read reviews of the many trusted dealers. I was surprised at the number of problems people have even with the trusted dealers. Initially I had picked out watches from PureTime, but put off by some of the reviews, decided to look around more. I checked out many of the other trusted dealers sites and then looked in the 'Other Dealers' section. I saw some positive reviews of TrustyTime here and checked out their site. I then went to other forums and read positive things (and inevitably some negative) about TrustyTime. Overall, I found the reviews of TrustyTime more uniform and positive than most, especially with regard to communication.

2) Selection: The TrustyTime website has a huge selection. Initially my wife wanted a Chanel J12 model, and not all of the rep-dealers do Chanel. Of course Milgauss is available everywhere and in many different variants. In the end, my wife decided to get a mid-size DateJust, for which, the TrustyTime website again has a huge selection.

Other factors included payment method (paypal) and shipping (FEDEX). I did not want to use Western Union or Credit Card for this purchase and wanted to ensure that FEDEX or UPS was used for shipping (there is no home mail delivery here in UAE and post is very slow - also, most mail packages are opened in customs).

Prices were not a main factor, but I did notice that TrustyTime is not the cheapest for sure, but the differences were not significant enough to put me off.

Anyway, I am no shill and I am very surprised by some of the negative comments following my post. I have posted here to let others, like myself, have more information when they decide to purchase. I am not saying that you will have the same experience with TrustyTime, but my experience was great - in terms of the quality of the watches and especially the fast communications. I will definately stick with TurstyTime for my next purchase and will also keep watching this and other forums to stay informed on how they and other dealers are doing ..

John.

p.s. Will follow up with the photos..

Who do you get your watches from? I still see people talking about ordering from Lay every day.

I guess people go to who they trust and seem to get value from.

You're trying really hard here.

If you don't know anything about the history of the twins and this forum, dig up some old threads and read them. If you do know about this history, I stand by my earlier post in this thread: You state that you did a lot of research. You should have known that the twins are not trusted here. That revelation might have lead you to research why that is. Had you understood why that is, you had a choice: Post your Thread of Joy at RepGeek and respectfully not do so here.

@sempire: Fair question. I don't buy reps these days. I buy gens from gen forum members and from dealers/builders. But I will tell you this: If I decide to buy another rep from a dealer I cannot imagine buying from Jandrew. Call me a chump or whatever. I am loyal by nature and that's not gonna change any time soon.

Just my $0.02 USD as always. Gotta go. Tommy-out.

$0.02 is maybe a bit inflated. This section of the forum is for other dealers. Plenty of previous posts on TrustyTime here too. In doing research, I looked at only more recent posts which were largely positive. I did not, and do not care to, search any deeper. Perhaps if the reason TrustyTime was removed from the trusted-dealer list is so important, you might actually say what that is? It seems this 'tommy-boy' has some major chip on his shoulder, as illustrated by the posts here. Clear prejudice and intent to insult using terms such as 'gushing' in response to a perfectly honest and legitimate review. What can I say? I am glad others found value in the post. As for tommy-boy, you get what your born with and no pills will help, despite what the spam-emails say. Out.
