Hi pals,
I’ve been in the forum for a bit over a year now and had the chance of having some various reps (for me and also for my friends & family) in this time period. In this topic, I’d like to share an experience with Andrew.
Firstly, I have worked with several different TD’s up to now and Trusty is one of them. Although he’s the only TD I had some smaller problems in my first orders, I kept ordering. But my latest experience was not so nice so I needed to share.
I ordered a ORF Black Seamaster from him on 08th of August with asking if it’s available right away, answer was yes and I made the payment. After the transaction is done, we waited for a month for the watch to get in stocks. (No big issue, but it would be nicer to not say that the pieces readily available)
Coming to the main problem here. I received some QC on beginning of September. The QC were dark, low res and was like intentionally hiding the critical features of the watch like CG shapes and movement. I asked for some more pics of movement and he replied that “this is the ORF watch on my site, trust me” so he didnt send pics and took my answer as a green light, dispatched it right away.
I received the watch 2 days ago and here are the pics. Engravings on the movement (that he did not share pics of) has paint thats scattered all over the writings. Very visibly ugly. It’s a clearly visible, one-off QC issue.
I then sent him the pics and his reply was “its a rep, dont expand picks and nitpick” DUDE, these ugly paintings are clearly visible to naked eye. This is a WC issue and he clearly hid it from me.
I bought Several watches from him before, with minor issues on some. I couldnt figure out why he did that and lost a new, excited customer.
would like to hear your comments on this. Before some old boys come and tell me that I am buying a $400 rep. Well, do you accept watches with crooked markers, misaligned DWs, faulty inserts? Caring for details like this is what this forum is for.
