So I've had my v2 for about 3 days now, and I'm really considering marching down to the store and getting the real deal. What do you guys think? Yay or nay

Nay -- I don't see the point. The rep is pretty darn close. I'd rather get a boutique, small-shop brand for $4k with an interesting movement, case or function. But if you're willing to spend it, I'm sure they're willing to take it haha.

Save your money...The rep is so close to gen that ultimately I think you will be severely disappointed. Pick up a couple of other reps and throw the rest of the money in the bank. The cost of a couple of reps would be comparable to the depreciation of the gen should you sell it...And you would have to be very careful wearing the gen as to avoid more depreciation.

If you do, i wouldnt be surprised if you end up selling and just keeping the rep.

Outside of the dial, the rep is spot on. And a great watch it it's own right. I think you'd have buyers remorse.

Why? The difference will be truly insignificant. If you just want to get rid of the money, send it to me. I will have an amazing time with it and send you a HD video.

I once fucked up and bought the gen tudor BB w/ eta movement. Biggest watch mistake Ive had.

It is such a basic watch and is a case where you truly are paying a premium for the name. At least now they have an "in house" movement, but when it was just the base etas, I felt like a total sucker. Even if the rep wasnt spot on, which in this case, it is, I still wouldnt feel great about buying the gen.

I do not see the value of the gen on this one. I had the fever when I first saw it and got the rep for a test drive because I was really debating on it and after about a month I decided against it. It's a very basic watch with a design that I don't feel will stand the test of time. I think it's like rose gold, it's fashionable now but will age poorly as the years go on. I see a lot of stir about this model but I think a year will see a fall in price on the used side and on sites like Jomashop. Take your money and get a Gallet or something interesting.

I'm very tempted to get the red rep from ZF, it looks so gorgeous from the pics. If the rep isn't really far off from the gen, I think the rep is a good buy.

Just keep your rep buddy.
Reasons:
Both have an "ETA" movement,
Both look the exact same,
And there are virtually no tells.
I think the pelagos would be worth a gen buy because it more elaborate in build and has more things that could go wrong on the replica,
There are way cooler gen watches you could spend 3 grand on :)

can you really wear a bronze watch every single day ( which you would need to do to justify)?

I have a gen red bb, it is my first ever gen swiss watch and I love it to bits. The details on the dials are amazing and the lume is pretty sweet too.

The RBB with the eta movement is likely to retain it's value for a while, the price of the gens only depreciated because the new in house movement came out. If you have the money and you would like to get a brand new gen watch that you could probably sell for around the same price in 5 years, i'd say go for it . But I'm probably a bit bias because I got it as a gift and it has sentimental value to me.

If I had found this forum earlier I would have gone for a second hand speedmaster and bought the rep of the BB because from the comparisons I've seen the v4 rep I think? is basically identical.

some very good reasons.....when going for GEN I would also only go for Pelagos.
However, this one looks great...https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/new-comparison-gen-tudor-pelagos-blue-vs-kw-v2.373729/
