This never got to the USA but in Europe, this is one of the iconic classic anime of our childhood

I knew there was some reason to explain that you’re one of my favorite staff member (other than the fact that you’re my Vaselume dealer!).

The original Japanese name of the manga was “Yūfō Robo Gurendaizā” (UFO Robot Grendizer).

Goldrake, Mazinga/Mazinga Z (Mazinger) and Jeeg Robot d'acciaio were the holy trinity of japanese cartoons. Especially the italian theme songs were a riot and every italian 70's-80's child knows them by heart. I loved the original Gundam a lot, too, that was another level, I loved how the bad guys had robots made in series. And then there was Daytarn 3. And a lot more.

Love the idea, but I'm not a big fan of the dial though... I think they could have made something with the Goldorak colors only. The seconds hand and the rotor would have been enough to identify the reference (love those 2 parts BTW).

A bit like what Omega did with the Tintin Speedmaster.


I'm still tempted to buy the watch and get a new classic PRX dial for it.

What a trip down memory lane… All the kids tuning in at the same time to watch an episode of Goldorak and talking about it the next day at school was truly something special!

I feel your pain mon ami. The wife just had me install 1000sqft of custom flooring and renovate the kitchen. And she doesn’t even cook, I do all the cooking.

All these damn life expenses getting in the way of good old fashion collecting.
