Hi, I am new here. Long time reader, first time poster. This forum has been very helpful for me in choosing some nice watches.

I just received a 7753 Timewalker chrono from Puretime ( http://pureti.me/product/timewalker...ob-best-edition-on-brown-leather-strap-a7753/ ). The problem is it keeps stopping when I went to sleep at night (about 2 hours after I sleep). Shouldn't it have 24-48 hours of reserve battery charge?

After it stops, I need to manually wind it to make it start again. Is this normal?

I have had other automatic watches, never had any issue with the movement stopping like this. This is my first 7753 so I am not sure if it is just my watch that is faulty or there is something else I should do.

Thanks for the help.

You have to give it about 20-30 manual winds first to build up power reserve

Yup I did. And that was what I had to do everytime to bring it back from dead. I will then wear it the whole day before going to bed so it should have enough time/movement to charge. Is this a faulty watch then?

From the info you provided, sounds like a faulty watch to me.

Does it keep good time?

When it stops, does can you wake it up by lightly tapping/shaking it? It may have some power reserve but may be 'stuck'. If you can't wake it, the auto-wind system may not be working properly, and not wind the mainspring...

If it persists, you should let puretime know. Most likely they will ask you to send it back for repairs. Alternatively, you can take it on the chin and get it serviced locally and ask for discount on the next purchase from puretime.

If you are comfortable with removing the case back, check that the rotor is secured correctly, and that when it turns that its actually turning the auto wind mech/gears.

It does not wake up with slight taps. Need to give a good shake or manual wind.

I will try to contact Puretime first.

Thanks very much guys.
