Ti Schumi or Bumble Bee?

I came back to AP after a long absence from it (From AP to Breitling to Pam to Omega to everything in between...;; , and boy! the new ones, especially the 44s are amazing.

The FC44 and Schumi Plat is better than anything I've owned so far in terms of design and build quality.

So, after some unsuccessful attempt at trying out on less-than-40mm' watches and successfully releasing all 3 of them this week, I decided on pulling a trigger on one very nice AP.

I love the plat Schumi so much that I want another one. Not into gold at all so if it's going to be the Schumi, then it will be the Ti.

However, despite so much praise for the Ti Schumi, everytime I look at the photos, except a very few professional shots, they seem a bit too meh.... almost in the territory of SS Diver. (Dough! How dare I say....!!)

I read that it's way way better in the flesh than photos, but I just can't see it. Is it true? Is it as good as the plat in terms of shear look?

So, I'v got an alternative candidate, which is the iconic Bumble Bee.

Until today, I was very reluctant to get it but after reading every single thread written about the BB here, I am totally sold.

Hence, here I am, stuck between the two.

Is the BB a must have as many have mentioned?

I know at the end of the day it's my decision no matter what others point me to, but I just need, say, a little push off the cliff. ;-P

So what's your vote fellas?

Start with one, the bb is a 42 schumi 44 determine if size matters to you. Both are excellent choices. The look and feel of both is extremely nice however it depends on your taste. You can easily flip either at minimum expense.

Hm.. the size doesn't matter. Bothe 42 and 44 are good fit for me.
Problem is I hate flipping although I tend to do it quite often.. :-D

Many of us own both the ti and the bb, hard to really compare builds as they are both very distinct one from the other. Given the bb came out first and definitely lived up to all the hype you have a difficult decision. The strap, clasp, and fc is impeccable. The only mods I did do was rnrprof crystal and recessed the bezel screws. I didn't think there was a need to slightly polish the case as with the 44 fc. The schumi ti rubber strap is by far the best rubber strap to date it's extremely supple and has that gen feel. The rep crystal is very decent however nothing beats the rnrprof crystals for clarity. The dial however is slightly off color compared with a gen, it's barely noticeable until you have the two side by side. You may opt to wait for a v2 although there isn't any confirmation of one coming. That said do I regret owning it, absolutely not. Keep in mind the schumi open case back does reveal the 7750. This isn't an issue for most but does matter to a few. If you have a local AD call ask if they have these in stock pop in try them on, granted they are gens but you'll get a really good indication as to which you prefer.

You are 1000% right.. and that's precisely why I can't decide. Lol

I am aware of the flaws in both watches and I don't have any problems with them. I don't intend to pass off as wearing a Gen, it's purely for my satisfaction and my recent acquisitions (FC44 and Schumi Plat) have given me more than adequate satisfaction despite the numerous usual AP flaws

So, for me, almost perfect replication of Bumble Bee and flaw-full of Schumi don't make any difference what so ever.

I need one right now and I mean now~! Haha.

SO, if you'd compare Ti Schumi to Plat or RG Schumi in terms of aesthetic quality (disregarding accuracy of colors) would you say Ti is on par?

You have the FC44 and you think the Ti Schumi is plain?

I never had any interest in the FC44 because that is what I deem plain.

As for the BB, it is a bit too unclassy for my liking. Nice watch but too sporty/juvenile looking.

Since you already have the Plat Schumi buy the BB.

I own 14 AP ROOs (including all three Schumis) but dislike the FC44 and the BB.

My Ti Schumi is my most worn watch. Also of the three Schumis, the plat is my least favourite.

Haha I see your point. well, the FC pattern compensates for the boring design of the FC44 where as Ti Schumi kinda looked too industrial from the photos. (Emphasis here 'photos')
But as you've said the positive review of the Ti was surprizingly higher than either the RG and Plat. There began my dilemma.
Exactly same sentiment for the BB too. The Toyish look put me off when it first came out but it grew on me... as they say, I'm stung by it! Lol

Anyhow, good point there for buying the BB as I have other 44mm. Guess I need to try out to see what all the hype was about.

Totally with BB. I really wanted one but for some crazy reason that I don't even know myself I ordered a RG RC AP and now I still want a BB so I am thinking again about getting that. It look extremely beautiful and distinct.

Bumblebee is the way to go. The crystal is so perfect the yellow mesmerizes you. The harmony between Forged Carbon and the yellow makes an awesome watch. Schumi IMO is a great watch but nothing to compare with BB. Also consider the Singapore Grand prix instead of Bumble Bee as well. The forged carbon makes the watch unique!
