Thoughts on this strapmaker?

Hey guys,

I'm contemplating getting a strap from eBay seller "antique_leatherstraps"

The straps he has listed look pretty good, my only concern is with the quality. Has anyone dealt with him in the past?

I have bought over 10 straps from him. They are great for the money and the shipping is fast.

I ended up selling most of them when I moved to more high end straps

But great budget straps and great for starting a strap collection and trying out different colors.

Ya its great to start out small and work your way into the nicer straps. Most my strap collection is dirk and MP but I still love my 80 dollar tootal strap which was my first custom strap ever

$80 isn't a cheap strap

I am as noobie as you, and I got 2 straps from that dealer on eBay.

No complaints at all.

I have never tried other straps than rep ones though.

I certainly learned that a fine strap really does set of a Panerai--as does a cheap strap in the other direction. My latest is a Gunny for my DSN Fiddy. What a thing of beauty! .....having said that, some might wonder what I'm doing with an old scrap of leather that isn't even finished on the edges on a nice watch. It is indeed a subjective thing--but I still argue that all things being equal, you get what you pay for!

Quick question. Just bought one of these for a PAM111, and the holes for tubes seem really big. Any special tubes needed?

The eBay seller says some of his straps are genuine leather? Is this truly the case for the $$ he is selling it for? Or is it safer to stick with bakeka-handmade.com a TD?
