A good idea Sir, so will subscribe, as am curious to see what the responses are & what details are supplied :graman:

From what I've seen, there appears to be 2 camps & I'm #2
  1. Some opt to service upon arrival
  2. Others will fix if/when it breaks or develops serious symptoms

I’m in camp #2 also. Usually takes a long period of time to receive watch but to then send it straight out for service…..I am patient, but not that patient LOL

I currently have a watch with TD interaktiv. He is the closest to my location and came recommended so went with him. If you look on sub thread: watchmakers and horologists there is a good selection to choose from depending on your location also. Personally I wouldn’t trust myself for modifications to answer your last question.

Wow that's an excellent resource. I'll pin this comment to the main post so that others can see as well! Thank you

Never mind I just realized I cannot edit my original post lol

There is a good watchsmith thread for Canadians in the international section

I just wear mine, if it’s a 2824 I swap it out myself for a Swiss ETA
Honestly with the 50-60 reps I have only one or two have needed a service.
