I'm far from an expert but the Seller does have 100% feedback, has been an eBay member 14 years and has sold some other watches and high end products. I would say gen.

I disagree. yes he has 100% feedback but if you look at what he has sold its a lot of small stuff.. He's sold a couple watches but not top end brands... and at the moment he has like 7 expensive watches listed, none with a reserve. All look like "steals" if gen. Who does that if they are real? you could really lose out. Also, this Panerai has been repped. Im not expert enough to tell from the photos but based on the situation Id have a red flag. If you really wanted to try to try it, the auction does say you have a 30 day guarantee I beleive.. as long as you pay with a credit card (not paypal) and you get the watch checked when you get it and are certain you can reverse the CC charge if its a rep, then of course its much safer.... if that were the case I guess it might be worth a try, but I'd be very cautious.

He doesn't fit the profile of a scammer. If he is he is damn good at it. He's gotten away with it for 14 years.

People's eBay profiles get stolen...its not necessarily the same person. Im not saying 100% for sure.. but its a suspicious pattern to never sell a high end watch and then simultanously list 6 all with no reserve. If it sounds too good to be true...

Looks legit to me -- I'd like to see the top of the crown for the enamel inlay, but everything from the box, papers, bezel thickness, Ferrari logo, caseback, lug construction and subdials represents as gen. Using Paypal as your risk management tool, I'd be comfortable on this one around $3k. Its still probably not a bad deal under $4,500 ...

PM'd him on RepGeek, he should get here shortly.

Sorry it took a bit longer.

I know of no Ferrari Panerai model that has an inlay (enamel or otherwise) on the crown. You might have misremembered some other watch that had a plastic looking inlay surrounding the Ferrari prancing horse logo. Or the fantasy replica which had an inlay at the caseback. As luck would have it, I own a FER00013 replica. Based on careful inspection, there are differences between it and the watch at the ebay link that would suggest that at least it is not a replica. The dial would be the first tell as it has features slightly different between the gen and the rep watch. The case lugs are rounded unlike the rep which are more pointed. The papers and manuals looks to be consistent with the genuine watch. The rep also is an A series, which I think holds true for all reps (Ferrari PAMs were produced from 2006-2009, so the serial was F AXXX/NNN for 2006, F BXXX/NNN for 2007 and so on). The watch in the pictures is a B series. So all features and accessories confirm that in all likelihood the watch is gen, and a good buy.

Even though we've established the authenticity of the watch, it still does not fully take away the valid concerns regarding the seller (although there are opinions like Tucker 's which I also agree with). Like we say, buy the seller then buy the watch. The suggestion by nalomb is a good one, use PayPal to your advantage to protect yourself from bait and switch scams. Here's my rep FER00013 for reference.

My understanding was that starting with the "B" series, there was an an enamel inlay on the 12 o'clock position of the crown as seen here:

https://www.chrono24.com/panerai/fer...-id6133878.htm

and here: https://www.bernardwatch.com/Panerai...nograph/PAN306

That might explain why all reps are "A" series and do not have it?

Ah, so that's the enamel inlay you were referring to? I get it now. Still that theory is incorrect. My A-series rep.

It's a marker to tell you that the crown can be pushed in and locked into place. So even A-series Ferrari PAMs had it (and by way of replication, including reps).
