No, I was irritated and a brand new eBayer bought it!
Here's a copy of the email response, It is still the same BS:
Dear smartmeter4u,
Hi again S4u,
As per the previous message, I will need to make an insurance, police stolen property check and Panerai databse check before completing the purchase and for this you need to supply the OP number and serial number from the back of the watch. Simple really, your money is waiting for you but I am sure you would not buy a £3.7k car for example unseen off eBay without making an HPI check would you?
If I were to send a watch to Panerai for service and an insurance claim had been made on it the insurer would insist the watch belonged to them. I would not have a leg to stand on.
You auctioned this specifically as a Panerai so it will not be a Chinese fake because that would be a criminal fraud but the lack of certain checkable detail in your long and wordy description is potentially suspicious if you are unwilling to reply.
Kind regards,
Lucie

Dear lucielaestik,
Good Morning Lucie,
Many thanks for your e-mail.
Upon reflection, and after taking advice as to how to progress with the sale of this fine watch, we have decided, (rightly or wrongly) to safeguard ourselves and our family and more importantly your good self from any legal ramifications arising from the watch potentialy not being legitimate (as has been pointed out by over 100 potential buyers), and if we are honest Lucie, the watch turning out to be a counterfeit would be highly unlikely after what has been brought to our attention about the size of our late uncles estate.
Because we have not had any time due to his sudden and unexpected death to check the authenticity of anything we are selling on behalf of our auntie, we feel it would be foolish to proceed with the sale with us unable to afford the relavant due diligence and to authenticate fully this beautifull watch, this, and another 8 watches we have since recovered all in boxes with papers and receipts of purchase.
I am sure you will understand our decission to hedge on the side of caution, and we will contact you when the watch is relisted as a fully authetic Panerai 1950.
I will contact eBay and let them know that the sale did not proceed and would hope that you will confirm this when they contact you for confirmation.
Kind Regards & Many Thanks
Louise
