I got a watch 6 weeks ago and it was clearly running a bit slow. So I thought I would invest in a timegrapher and the results have really surprised me.

Is this a regulation issue, or do you think it's something more serious?

That can be regulated out. Amplitude is a little low, but maybe it's not fully wound.

Yes that could well be it, probably varies from watch to watch, but how many manual winds would be enough to test it?

That looks like it's at its end of its power reserve. What watch/movement is it? Having the right lift angle as well would help you see the correct amplitude for it after a full wind.

As trip says, it can be regulated.

It was a M2M sale and no longer available, it was quoted as having an SA925 movement. I've searched and the orinal movement a925 from JLC has a 48 lift angle, so that will also have a big impact.
I'll do a full wind and set the lift and test again.

I'll update with results

Bit of an update, I let the watch fully unwind and rewound from scratch 30 times, but sadly no difference. I tried various lift angles, none producing a decent result. Problem is although the original JLC I think is 48, I have no degree of certainty that the clone is the same.
I am now doing a manual test I have set to the atomic clock today and will wear for 72 hours and then check how far out it is.

1. Did you take a reading after verifying that it was fully charged?
2. Did you attempt to regulate it?

Thanks for the repy,

1, Yes, i did and as I said above, "but sadly no difference. I tried various lift angles, none producing a decent result" but how you "verify" a watch is fully charged I don't know.
2. No, I didn't. The watch is a JLC MUT and the case back is held on with 4 miniscule screws, which are beyond my ability to remove. If I could, I would at least try to regulate it. I've done this successfully in the past with screw back cases.
