The ZF 389 changed my mind...

Haven't posted in awhile, so thought I would share some observations of my first PAM rep purchase this year... when OP first came out with the 389, I didn't feel much love for it and didn't seek it out to try on. But at lunch last week I got to try on the ZF version and was impressed. And bought it.

Fit and finish is among the best I've seen on any rep. Well done little details are everywhere. They got the directional arrow on the anti-magnetic cover (turn and line it up with the crown and you can easily remove it). The QR buttons are nicely done too. They have a solid feel in use.

Lume is good too, both application and charge.

The movement finish has to be seen in-person to really appreciate how good it is. The date lines up dead center in the small window.

What really sold it for me was how much more comfortable and balanced it is compared to how the 243 fit my wrist. The 389 does not feel as top heavy, nor does it want to slide as easily on my wrist like the 243 always did.

Some pics from last week...

For size reference, my wrist measures 7.5"...

That looks great! Very nice pick-up, I was on the fence about this model but the more I see it the more it's growing on me.

Forgot to add, this is the first PAM rep I've owned that didn't need to have the cg fine-tuned. The best rep 47mm cg to date. Lever shape and cg pin are nearly perfect.

I just got one too and got a croc strap for it. I wasn't sure how it would look but I like it a lot!

This watch deserves a try, the worse part is the bezel knurling IMO

It seems that Zfac has already changed the "painted" jewels (most correctly filled) on movemnts for "real" jewels
Could you confirm it Proj ?

I have seen the same in ZFac PAM 382 movmnt

Good news

The jewels are correct now, slightly transparent, not painted.

That's good news. This watch looks great. Points for closed caseback.
