I need to edit this: The watch below really isn't too bad, though it has some faults. The thing that got me was that there are people who may think they are getting a great watch simply because a well known name has worked on it. This is not always the case, as illustrated below. One thing that you you will see in this post is an excellent version of a VAC lumed DSSD that looks fantastic. Thanks to maybetomorrow for sharing his photos.
Since posting this, I've found a DSSD that is truly worthy of the headline, so scroll down to see it.
Every once in a great while I like to check out things on the other forums, and found myself looking at RG's sale section. This one caught my attention and was curious to see how wonderful this watch was this:

Pearl looks fine to me guys. The Lume glow is identical. Im not sure what to tell you. Watch is Brand new.....AS far as im concerned this is the finest example of this watch you will find. Best, Andy
What I expected to find was something that looked similar to a gen...
But not so. I found something that looked more like... actually just like this...
Andrew, this doesn't look so bad- why are you being so critical? Let's look a little closer shall we?
The pearl is really weird on this in that it looks like brass- actually, if I'm not mistaken, if you take the finish off of one of these, this is what it would look like. Either way, something is just not right here- and it ain't the lighting.
The ring lock on this is crazy wrong. It's turned too far clockwise so nothing lines up as it should. The dial printing seems a little too thick, and the date window is too rounded.
Let's take a look at the HEV...
Here's a gen HEV, the first version of the HEV which featured a thicker, rounder valve ring.
Here's what you get on this one...
Yikes!
Let's take a look at the lume job. From the photos provided, it just seems way to blatant to me. I don't know if it's too white, or too big... it just doesn't look natural.
I've tried to adjust the warmth of the image to see how it compares to gen lume- on this I'm more than happy to give Vac the benefit of the doubt that it's a good match and looks more like this:
Than this actual photo...
If it were me, I'd never have invested the money and effort to have this relumed. To hope that it could sell for $535 is just amazing to me. Hopefully this will save someone the pain of considering, or even worse, spending any amount of money on this watch. In my humble opinion, it's a disaster that is sure to disappoint.
